Anushka Singh is a Bollywood actress. She is acclaimed for her acting, and has been named one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood. Anushka Sharma was born May 1, 1988 at Ayodhya Uttar Pradesh to Kumar Sharma and Ashima Sharma. Anushka's dad is a colonel-retd. Anushka's mother is a housewife. Karnesh Sharma is Anushka's older brother. He served in Merchant Navy, and is an entrepreneur in the field of film production. Anushka Sharma completed her schooling from Army School, Bangalore and has pursued Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Anushka Sharma holds a Master's degree in Economics. Anushka wanted to become either a model or journalist, not an actor. Anushka was able to complete her education in Mumbai, enrolled at Elite Model Management. She was trained by style consultant Prasad Bidapa. In the year 2017 Anushka made her modelling debut at the designer Wendell Roricks' Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was picked by the designer to be his finale model at spring 2007's Spring Collection. Since her debut as a model during Lakme Fashion Week Anushka did numerous campaigns for various brands, and she's done ads for the brands' Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio etc. Anushka began to audition for film roles and enrolled in an acting school alongside her career as model. In 2008 Anushka Sharma began her acting career with the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shah Rukh Khan. In her screen test she refused to do an impromptu one and took one day to get ready. Then she was signed for three films under Yash Raj Films banner. The role she played was that of the bride, who was young and married to a man of middle in age (the character Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. In 2010 Anushka Sharma appeared in the movie 'Badmash Company with Shahid Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das as well as Meiyang Chang. The film received mixed praises. Anushka played a role in a film known as Band Baaja Baraat starring Ranveer who played an American Punjabi girl from middle class, who establishes her own wedding-planning company. The movie was a huge success with a lot of praise. Anushka had completed the contract for three films together with Yash Raj Films.
